70.000 signatures - but government insists on sale

In communities, streets, trade unions and at manifestations the NRW people's initiative collected more than 70.000 signatures for the mass petition. Meanwhile, the signatures were handed over to the government. But the government did not change its plans.

Ignoring the protests the government abolished the country regulation on legal protection of tenants after condo-conversion.

Regarding the privatization of LEG the government currently is working on the preparation for sale to a large investor. At the moment the hope is that the crash of the international speculative real estate market will reduce the capacity of financial investors to pay a reasonable price.

The struggle continues.
